The centre should have Minimum bed strength of 100, including Surgical ICU. There should be minimum 2 dedicated HN OTs. It should be equipped with operating microscope.
The out-patient examination should have HN examination rooms with appropriate telescopes, fibreoptic nasolaryngoscope and office biopsy infrastructure.
Robotics, Endoscopic nasal and skull base set and LASER are desirable optional facilities.
The institute should have following departments: Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Onco Pathology, Onco Radiology.
Following are desirable optional departments: Preventive, Palliative, Oncopsychology, Nutrition, Physio, speech & swallowing and Biostatistics department.
The institution will appoint a Fellowship Program Director, an Assistant Program Director and a Program Co-ordinator.
The Fellowship Program Director should have 10 years clinical experience or 5 years teaching experience.
They should have educational qualification in MCh HN / MCh Surgical Oncology / MS with 10 yrs. of dedicated HN Surgical Oncology clinical experience.
Assistant Program Director should be an MS/MCh/MDS actively involved in care of Head & Neck Cancer patients.
Program Co-coordinator may be a non clinical person.
The institute should have minimum workload of 50 new HN oncology opd patients and 25 HN oncology Surgeries per month.
